Surbiton High Junior Girls Become Archaeologists for the day - 09/06/2010

For part of our History Week at the Junior Girls' School, each girl was given the unique opportunity to experience what it is like to be an archaeologist. The girls had the chance to find artefacts loaned to us by the British Museum in a mock dig. This allowed them to handle objects from as far back as the Roman period, even tracing their fingers where Romans once had. Junior girls also took part in an examination of an archaeological site, using the information they had to predict what period of history they thought the site was showing.
