Surbiton High Sixth Form success with Oxbridge Application - 09/02/2012

Surbiton High School is delighted to report that six of our Year 13 pupils have received conditional offers from Oxford or Cambridge: Lucy Purslow to read French and Spanish at St. Anne's College Oxford; Eunice Kim to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall Oxford; Grace Martin to read Chemistry at St. Peter's College Oxford; Hannah Hodson to read Chemistry at Oxford, her college yet to be determined; Alessa Betts to read Natural Sciences at Christ's College Cambridge; and, through a post-qualification application, Jenny Steinitz to read Politics, Psychology and Sociology at Churchill College Cambridge. Two other Cambridge applicants have had their applications ‘pooled', with a final decision to be made by the end of January.
A delighted Eunice commented, "Although the interview was daunting it was a really enjoyable experience. I found that the Oxbridge mentoring and mock interview prepared me for the interview, so thank you Surbiton!" Hannah added, "I found from my own experience that it was difficult to tell whether you would get an offer from the interview so I was surprised when I got an open offer."
Ann Haydon, Principal, said, "We are thrilled for all the girls in Year 13 who are receiving several offers from their first choice university and my congratulations go to those girls who have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge against competition from applicants across the world.
