Progression to Senior School

The girls are well prepared, by the Junior Girls' School, in both curriculum and pastoral matters for Senior School life. By the time the girls leave Year 6 they are competent and confident young ladies, well-equipped with the required skills and attributes for the experiences of the Senior School. Our girls are not required to sit the entrance examination for Surbiton High School as they naturally progress from the Junior School across Surbiton Road to the Senior School. The Senior School environment, by this time, is a very familiar one, as the girls in Years 5 and 6 have many opportunities to visit the Senior School and experience some of what it has to offer. Recent experiences have included attending the Inter-House Public Speaking competition, taster lessons, maths enrichment and a special Junior Girls' School girls Open Morning. There are a number of Scholarships available for the Senior School (Academic, Sport, Music and Art). Should any of the girls wish to apply for the Academic Scholarship then they will be required to sit the entrance examination. If they wish to apply for any of the other Scholarships then they are required to complete the necessary criteria for consideration along with all external candidates.
