Pastoral Care

We provide outstanding pastoral care at the Junior Girls' School, where every pupil is treated as an individual. Girls feel secure and valued and are able to grow in confidence to achieve their very best. This is promoted through our twice weekly whole school assemblies and supported by our weekly class and key stage assemblies. Form Time is often used to promote positive attitudes towards School and each other.

We have a successful buddy system for welcoming new girls into our School. All Year 6 girls are assigned a Reception girl to look after for the year. They love this opportunity and really support the girls in settling in and playing together. Links are also set up in other year groups for new girls starting. Our girls write letters to new girls, introducing themselves, and we encourage them to meet up before they start School. This system works incredibly well in ensuring a smooth transition into our School and is valued greatly by all new girls and their parents.

Girls flourish in the relaxed and happy atmosphere of our School and they enjoy helping others at every opportunity. They are supported at all times and any concerns raised are immediately and appropriately managed by staff, in partnership with parents, where necessary.
