Leadership Opportunities

Every year two boys from Year 6 are nominated as Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy. They are chosen for their attributes as good role models for younger pupils and to act as ambassadors for the School at official events. In addition to these roles of responsibility, the School has a thriving School Council with the main committee being made up of five Year 6 boys and representatives from Years 2 to 5. The School Council contributes to the running of the School by discussing issues raised by the School or through making suggestions as to how the School could be improved. Each year the School Council works collaboratively to review the Code of Conduct. Another opportunity for leadership at the School presents itself in the form of House Captains and Sports Captains, which is a responsibility also taken on by boys in Year 6. Every Form Teacher creates roles of responsibility within their class in order to provide an experience of leadership in a smaller context. During our School Open Mornings all boys from Year 6 take on the role of ambassador and act as guides for the prospective parents, sharing all that the School has to offer. They enjoy this responsibility immensely and many positive comments are regularly received from the visitors about their maturity, pride for the School and knowledge.
