Curriculum
Our curriculum closely follows the National Curriculum but is enhanced, where necessary, to fit the needs of our pupils. The core subjects of English, Maths, Science and ICT are taught and the SATs tests are carried out at ages 7 and 11. In addition to the subjects mentioned above we also teach History, Geography, Religious Education, French, Spanish, Design Technology, Art, Music, Drama, Games and Personal Social and Health Education. Specialist teachers are responsible for the teaching of Sport, Music and Languages throughout the School. The boys in Reception, Years 1 and 2 are predominantly taught by their Form Teacher but as the boys progress through Years 3 to 6 more specialist teaching is carried out. By the time the boys reach Year 5 all subjects are taught by specialists which prepares them well for their transition to Senior School.
The curriculum is enriched in many ways by trips, visits and visitors and by subject-themed days or weeks. Recent examples of this have been Maths Investigation Week, World Book Day, visits to the Transport Museum and Hampton Court Palace and a talk from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
