Surbiton High teacher steps up for the Sermon on the Mount challenge - 01/06/2010
Surbiton High School teacher Carol Holmes spent many inspiring hours during Lent memorising the Sermon on the Mount in four different languages (English, French and Spanish along with a few verses in Latin) to raise money for Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH). Though Carol is a French teacher of many years' experience, this is only her second year of learning Spanish!
The 25 minute recital took place on Friday 23rd April where about 35 of her sponsors gathered (and a panel of judges from Surbiton High School) to hear her phenomenal linguistic memory in full swing, whilst enjoying bubbly and delicious cakes.
The Trustees and staff can't thank Carol enough for raising a fantastic total of £1,093.51 (including gift aid) towards future developments at KCAH. Please see
