New Sports Facility Proposal for Surbiton High School

Surbiton High School is proposing a new Sports Facility on its Hinchley Wood site.
The proposal is to build a twelve badminton court-sized Sports Hall alongside the Pavilion including changing facilities, a sprung competition floor for gymnastics, a multi-purpose gym and reception area, along with four further tennis courts on the Hinchley Wood site. There is also a proposal in place for a full sized Astroturf, multi-use games area, and three tennis courts at the former Wyevale Garden Centre on Oaken Lane.
The Sports Hall is designed for performance development and will have close association with the activities taking place on the existing Sports Field such as indoor tennis, football, netball and hockey. It is the School's intention that the site will be used by the pupils of Surbiton High School and Rowan Girls' Preparatory School on a daily basis during term time, occasionally during weekends and holidays for sporting and one-off events.
This is an exciting development for the School. It is expected that the Planning Authority will be able to make a decision by early October.

Development of the Prep site
"Plans have now been submitted to The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Council for additional facilities at Surbiton High School Boys' Preparatory School. Subject to planning permission, construction will begin during Easter break in 2012 with completion scheduled during the summer holidays in order for the facilities to be ready in time for the new academic year in September 2012. I am sure that you will agree, this is a very exciting development. Please download the attached document to view the plans."
